AME Admission Process Through AME CET

AME CET stands for Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Common Entrance Test. Documents Required for AME Admission

What Does the Scholarship Pay For?

Under the published AME CET 2027 scheme, scholarship depends on your rank or eligible award category. Scholarship is only applicable on First semester tuition fees.

For example, AIR 1–5 is eligible for a 100% tuition fees scholarship, subject to a maximum of ₹2 lakh, under the published conditions. ^[4]

100% scholarship does not mean the whole AME course is free. It does not automatically cover later-semester fees, hostel, meals, books, uniforms, practical training or other expenses. What Happens After AME Admission?

After admission, you start training in your chosen AME category. Your total timeline depends on the programme, exam progress and experience arrangements. Training and experience periods may be mixed where the rules allow. Ask your institute for a written schedule. ^[2]Your path towards an AME licence includes these requirements given below:

Basic training: Attend theory lessons, practical sessions and assessments. Learn about aircraft systems, maintenance, tools and safety.
Module exams: Meet the CAR-66 examination requirements for your category. Passing an institute assessment does not automatically satisfy a DGCA module exam requirement.
Maintenance experience: Gain and record practical experience on operating aircraft. The required period depends on your category and training route. Course practical sessions do not automatically count towards this experience.
