Ques: How long does the PPL course take?

If you join a PPL program via AME CET typical course duration is about 6 to 8 months. Duration may vary a bit depending on how often you fly and how fast you complete both theory and practical flying.

What does this time include

In this period you'll complete ground school studies and actual flight training. The PPL course subject covers many topics like: fundamentals of flight take offs and landings navigation radio communications aircraft systems flight operations emergency procedures flight planning and more.

Also as per global norms (such as those of the Federal Aviation Administration and similar aviation authorities) a minimum of 40 flight hours is often required to obtain a PPL. But typically students complete 50-70 hours or more depending on frequency of training and personal progress.

What works in favor of 6-8 months timeline

  • If you train regularly, say multiple times a week you gain flight experience quickly.

  • Ground school and theory subjects (air regulations navigation aircraft knowledge aerodynamics) are well structured under the PPL course subject helping you learn systematically.

  • With good weather instructor availability and your own commitment you can finish within this 6-8 months timeframe.

What can delay completion

  • Irregular flight schedule (less frequent lessons) can stretch the duration.

  • Bad weather or limited aircraft/instructor availability may cause delays.

  • Some students may need more hours than minimum comfort confidence and mastery of flight skills differ per person.

On average PPL course takes about 6-8 months at institutes under AME CET if you study and fly regularly. But actual time may be shorter or longer depending on how often you train and how quickly you complete required flight hours and exams. If you stay consistent and committed you should be able to finish in that time.
