If you want to do well in a Private Pilot License course (PPL) then apart from studying the PPL course subject well you also need some important personal and mental skills.

Useful Skills for PPL

  • Clear communication: As part of the PPL syllabus you learn Radio Communications Navigation Systems/Facilities and Radar Services. So you should be able to understand and speak English clearly. Good communication helps especially when you talk to Air Traffic Control (ATC) or your instructor.

  • Situational awareness and quick thinking: Flying needs you to constantly watch many things the aircraft instruments weather navigation traffic patterns and react quickly if something changes.

  • Calmness under pressure and decisiveness: While flying sometimes there may be unexpected problems or emergencies.
