The AME B1.2 Stream is a license-based course (approved by DGCA Government of India) for working on piston-engine aircraft small planes training aircraft or private jets. After finishing the course and obtaining the license, you are qualified to inspect, maintain, repair and certify piston engine aircraft under DGCA standards.
While you are under training or doing initial OJT/ internship, you may get modest pay or a stipend. According to the course page, this is often around INR20,000-INR30,000 per month.
Annualized, this roughly amounts to INR3-4.5 lakh per year.
Once you have your DGCA approved license and begin working as a licensed AME in piston engine aircraft maintenance, you can expect a starting salary of around INR5-8 lakh per annum in India.
This is consistent with other sources suggesting entry level AME pay between INR4-7 LPA.
As you gain experience, your salary tends to rise. With about 5 or more years, typical annual remuneration for an experienced AME may go up to INR10-15 lakh per year.
Some sources mention that specialized AMEs (with skill in engines/avionics or working in good MROs/airlines) or those in senior roles might even reach INR15-18 LPA or more.
If you join AME B1.2 and get your licence, you can realistically expect to begin your career at about INR5-8 lakh per year in India. As you gain experience maybe 3-5 years your income could climb to INR10-15 lakh or more per annum. Thus, even from early in your career, this stream offers a respectable pay and decent growth potential.
