The curriculum of BJMC is designed to meet specific requirements of media and communication professionals. It consists of major Journalism disciplines such as Journalism, Media Studies, Public Relations and Advertising which helps the student in news writing, creative writing, and ethics in the media. Students are taught about Communication Theories, Mass Communication, and Media Laws so they may appreciate the media's scope and influence and the regulations and responsibilities that govern it. Digital Media, Photography, and Broadcast Journalism provide contemporary skills in Television, Radio, and internet content production.
In addition to core subjects, BJMC provides practical training in news writing, content development, and investigative journalism. Media Management, Event Management and Corporate Communication are offered so students appreciate the other aspects of the media industry. Film Studies, Political Communication, and Development Communication relate the use of media technology and its impact on society. Data Journalism and New Media Technologies courses prepare students to cope up with rapid digitalization in the media industry.
