Aeronautical Engineering eligibility demands that the candidates must have pursued their 10+2 studies with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) as mandatory subjects. A minimum of 50-60% aggregate marks in these subjects is required by most institutions. A higher percentage requirement may be specified by some premier universities and institutes. The candidates also need to qualify for exams such as JEE Main, JEE Advanced, or state-level engineering entrance exams, depending on the admission procedure of the institution. Diploma graduates in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering are also eligible to apply for lateral entry in the second year.
Besides academic credentials, some institutions might also do aptitude tests or personal interviews.
