The B.Com (NEP) program enables students to pursue careers that integrate accounting, finance, banking, taxation, and general business management. Graduates of this program can work as accountants, financial analysts, tax consultants, auditors, and in various banking positions in both the private and public sectors. In government, there are employment opportunities in PSUs, SSC, and UPSC and other government banking services. For people interested in self employment, there are options to set up one’s own businesses or work with established start-ups. Many of them also move towards insurance, stockbroking and wealth management.
To achieve this, more education is pursued including MBA, CA, CMA, CFA, MCom, or CS degrees. These degrees offer enlargement in career potential. Specialized degrees in finance, marketing, human resources, or international business are now available and allow for increased mobility outside the country. The National Education Policy (NEP) structure encourages skill-based learning which comes in handy for industry readiness post-graduation. For graduates of B.Com, there are new opportunities in digital marketing, data analytics, and fintech. With the growing demand of India’s economy, graduates who are skilled in commerce are increasingly sought after and this makes the degree a good investment for the future.
