To study the BSc in Hotel Management, or BSc HM, one must pass the 10+2 examination from a reputed board with aggregate marks of at least 50%. Some colleges emphasize English as compulsory, and entrance exams exist, such as the NCHM JEE which is the National Council for Hotel Management Joint Entrance Examination. Other top colleges even possess institute entrance, whereas private universities usually have its specific admission procedure, along with personal interview, and group discussion.
Besides academic qualifications, the candidate must have a communication skill, be customer-focused, and be good at hospitality service. In addition, age brackets are usually within 17-25 years for some colleges. International students require proof of language proficiency, mostly in English through IELTS or TOEFL.
