For pursuing a BSc in Computer Science, general eligibility is the successful completion of higher secondary education, or 12th grade at any recognized institution. Mathematics and Science will obviously form the nucleus of computer programming and technical knowledge, and thus must have studied subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics at 12th level. The minimum marks required by institutions usually range between 50% to 60% in the qualifying exams.
Some colleges and universities even conduct entrance exams to test the aptitude and preparedness of a candidate for the course. In some, admission is also done directly on merit. Besides, the candidate must be fluent in English or the medium of instruction used by the institution. Most institutions also have age criteria; the maximum age is generally up to 22-24 years. It is important for the candidates to look at specific eligibility requirements of the university or college they want to apply to as these slightly vary.
