Ques: What are the eligibility criteria for B.Tech?

Basic Eligibility Criteria: To pursue a B.Tech, one must pass 10+2 with core subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) from any recognized board. Students must get an aggregate of minimum 50-75% percentage, depending upon the institute. Admission: Students are mostly given admission on the basis of entrance exams such as JEE Main, JEE Advanced for the IITs, and CETs in each state such as MHT CET, WBJEE, KCET, or university-level exams such as VITEEE, SRMJEEE, and BITSAT. Some private universities also offer direct admissions based on merit.

Diploma holders in engineering, or polytechnic graduates, can enter the second year through lateral entry through LEET, or Lateral Entry Entrance Test. Universities may have extra requirements, like interviews or counseling rounds. In some institutions, there are relaxations in eligibility for reserved categories like SC/ST/OBC/PWD. International students must qualify for SAT or university-specific entrance exams. B.Tech is offered in many specializations: Computer Science, Mechanical, Civil, AI, Data Science, and Electronics Engineering.
