To be eligible for admission into B.Pharm, a candidate must have done 10+2 or equivalent from a recognized board with Physics, Chemistry, and either Biology or Mathematics as compulsory subjects. Most of the universities require an aggregate score of 50% in these subjects, though institutes relax the requirement a bit for reserved category students, and some can be done with English as the compulsory subject as well. The age criterion is usually between 17 to 25 years at admission.
Admissions in B.Pharm mostly depend on the entrance examinations such as GPAT, WBJEE, MHT CET, BITSAT, or state-level pharmacy entrance exams. Some private universities even organize their own entrance examination or provide merit-based admissions. Under some circumstances, even students who have completed their D.Pharm receive lateral entry into the second year of B.Pharm. It trains students in specific careers in pharmaceutical sciences, research, and healthcare industries, making it a high demand.
