Ques: Do I need to take an entrance exam for B.Pharm admission?

Admission to a B.Pharm program varies from university to university and also country to country. Many institutes take students based on their 12th-grade marks, especially in PCB/PCM; some have entrance tests such as NEET, MHT CET, WBJEE, or the state-level pharmacy entrance test. The private universities have their entrance test, while some institutes admit directly based on merit.

Usually, entrance exams are followed; for that, good scores in subjects like Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Mathematics, are expected. Government colleges and other good private institutions prefer entrance examination scores for admission. But some private colleges admit students based on academic performance along with a personal interview. Some students may even wish to check the specified admission criteria of their favorite university before applying. In addition, some colleges require counseling rounds separately after the entrance exam. Knowing these requirements beforehand makes the admission process to the B.Pharm program hassle-free.
