If you wish to enroll in the Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (AME) B1.1 Stream, being medically fit is an essential eligibility condition. The course demands good eyesight (corrective lenses are allowed) proper hearing and no serious physical disability or colour blindness.
As an AME B1.1 engineer, you will work on turbine engine aircraft, handling mechanical systems engines fuel hydraulics and more.
These tasks often involve fine visual inspection careful identification of wiring or fluid lines (hence colour recognition matters), and physical work climbing bending working in hangars and sometimes under pressure or in challenging conditions.
