Assam is also host to a number of institutions dedicated to aerospace technology. The Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati (IITG) has advanced research and education in the field of aerospace engineering, playing an important role in the same. The National Institute of Technology Silchar (NITS) also has specialized courses and research programs in aerospace engineering. Tezpur University has courses and research programs in this field as well.
Apart from these educational institutions, Assam is also going to gain from a new aerospace and defense training hub. Dassault Systèmes, one of the premier technology firms, is going to set up the facility with an investment of ₹240 crore. The hub is going to impart specialized training in aerospace, defense, automotive, and electric vehicle domains, further boosting skill development and industrial development in the region.
