A student’s admission requirements for a Bachelor of Journalism and Mass Communication degree (BJMC) differs from one university or college to the other. While some institutions conduct entrance examinations, others accept students based on their 12th grade marks. Notable entrance tests for the BJMC include the IPU CET for Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, CUET, and DUET. Private institutions might conduct their own entrance examinations such as SET or Christ University Entrance Examination.
English language skills, general knowledge and current affairs, logical reasoning, and media knowledge are the usual subjects tested in these examinations. Other selection methods utilized by some universities include personal interviews or group discussions with candidates. However, direct admission based on grade 12 marks is offered by a number of private colleges and state universities. Before submission of application documents, one has to be sure of the admission terms of the university or college of their choice.
