The course duration of the Aeronautical Engineering Program at P.S.N.A. College of Engineering and Technology (PSAEC) follows the conventional pattern of undergraduate engineering programs in India. This is a full-time four (4) year Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) degree and is structured in 8 semesters. Each semester is expected to be about six months long and consists of a combination of theory, practical classes, and industrial training and work. The students are expected to be grounded in the basics of aerodynamics, propulsion, aircraft structures, avionics, and flight mechanics. The program also provides exposure through workshops, internships, and projects so that academic learning is complemented with practical skills.
Besides the classroom study, the course profile also covers aerospace vehicle research, design, and development of aircraft and spacecraft. Students participate in industrial visits, national and international conferences, and undertake active projects in aerospace technology. In the last year, there is usually a capstone project and an internship component where the students will be able to put the knowledge they have acquired into practice. After finishing the course, the graduates can work in the aviation, defense, space research, and manufacturing industries or further their studies with M.E., M.Tech, or MBA programs in the concentration areas of their choice.
