The undergraduate program in Hospitality Management, referred to as BBA HM, has been created for students interested in the hospitality, tourism, and services sectors. Students learn about hotel management, event management, customer relations, and business. One of the best features of this program is that students from any discipline- science, commerce, or arts, can enroll after their 12th grade. Like many other universities, most require students to receive a minimum percentage (commonly 50%) in 12th grade. Few universities also conduct entrance examinations or interviews for selection purposes.
Travel and tourism, hotels, resorts, event management, airlines, and even cruise lines offer outstanding career opportunities for students pursuing BBA HM. The coursework is directed towards developing business, leadership, marketing, and financial management skills within the context of hospitality. A number of colleges provide practical training through internships, thus increasing industry exposure. Students with great communication and customer service skills, and those who love serving people, will find BBA HM a worthwhile choice with immense career opportunities in the international tourism industry.
