They work on all types of aircraft, from small single-engine planes to large commercial jets.
In MRO environment, AMEs typically report to their supervisor or manager and are responsible for their own work as well as overseeing the work of other AMEs and maintenance technicians. They are also responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date maintenance records and ensuring that all work is performed in compliance with regulatory and safety requirements. Additionally, AMEs may also be responsible for supervising and training apprentices and other maintenance staff. They are at the core of the MRO industry, their skill and knowledge is the backbone for the safe and efficient operation of the aircraft.
