Baku is indigo airline's 30th international destination and 108th destination overall; this new destination has been added to the route after Tbilisi, Jakarta and Nairobi.

IndiGo is working on the expansion of its international flight network. With this new flight, the airline will improve connectivity with Central Asia. Specifically, the Indian carrier will operate flights four times a week between Azerbaijan's capital Baku and India's capital Delhi, starting from August 11. It is worth mentioning that Baku is the 30th international destination and 108th overall destination n the airline's network.

Apart from improving connectivity and trade between the cities, the services will provide travellers with a journey full of cultural experience. It is to be noted that this is the first direct flight service between Baku and Delhi.

IndiGo is currently both India's busiest domestic airline and its largest international airline, with a market share of over 55 percent and service to 29 foreign sites.

If India were to start a direct flight route between Delhi and Baku (the capital of Azerbaijan), it could potentially create various job opportunities in both the aviation industry and related sectors. Here are some potential job roles and areas that might be affected:

  1. Pilots and Cabin Crew: The new flight route would require pilots to operate the aircraft and cabin crew to ensure passenger safety and comfort during the journey.

  2. Ground Staff: Airports would need additional ground staff for check-in, boarding, baggage handling, security, and customer service related to the new flight route.

  3. Aircraft Maintenance: More flights would mean increased maintenance needs for the aircraft. Aircraft maintenance engineers and technicians would be required to ensure the planes are in optimal condition.

  4. Air Traffic Control: Air traffic controllers would manage the flow of air traffic, including takeoffs, landings, and routing for the new flight route.

  5. Airport Services and Management: Airport management and services, such as retail, food, and transportation, might experience increased demand due to higher passenger traffic.

  6. Tourism and Hospitality: The introduction of a new flight route could boost tourism between the two cities. Jobs in hotels, restaurants, tour operators, and travel agencies might see an uptick.

  7. Business and Trade: Improved connectivity could lead to increased business travel and trade opportunities, potentially impacting jobs in international business, trade facilitation, and customs.

  8. Language and Cultural Services: As India and Azerbaijan have different languages and cultures, there might be a need for translators, interpreters, and cultural liaisons.

  9. Marketing and Sales: Airlines might need to hire professionals to promote the new route and attract passengers.

  10. Logistics and Supply Chain: Companies involved in transporting goods between the two cities could experience increased business, leading to potential job opportunities in logistics and supply chain management.

  11. Diplomacy and International Relations: The new flight route could enhance diplomatic and cultural ties between the two countries, potentially creating opportunities in diplomacy, international relations, and cultural exchange programs.

  12. Aviation Training: With increased flight routes, there could be a need for more aviation training programs, including pilot training, air traffic control training, and aircraft maintenance training.
