Institute of Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (IAME) is located in Gorakhpur city in Uttar Pradesh. This college is one of the best or first training AME institutes in Uttar Pradesh. It is approved by the Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), under CAR-147 (basic), Government of India, New Delhi with 27 september 2006, offers a Bachelor of science (B.Sc) + aircraft maintenance engineering course dual degree. This is the only college that is established in Gorakhpur city in Uttar Pradesh for those students who want to pursue their career in the field of aviation.

Aircrafts

Institute of Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (IAME) have their own two aircraft that are Aircraft Cessna - 152 and Aircraft Learjet - 24B. Arrangement of the full range of maintenance facilities and maintenance practices.

AME (Aircraft maintenance engineering) Program at IAME (Institute of Aircraft maintenance Engineering) is now CAR-147 (BASIC) compliant. Under this programme institute is approved by DGCA Ministry of Civil Aviation, Govt of India for AME license category B1.1 which covers heavy aircraft and turbine engine to be know as Mechanical stream and category B2 which covers aircraft electrical instrumentation and aircraft communication and navigation system to be know as Avionics stream.

Duration of AME + B.Sc

Aircraft Maintenance Engineering + Bachelor Of Science(AME+B.Sc) is the 3 year course where in the first 2 year you have to study AME and another one year you have to study bachelor of science (B.Sc).

Aircraft maintenance engineering (AME) academic programme is divided into four semesters covering 2400 hours of theoretical and practical training in 2 years duration for both B1 and B2 streams. Out of 2400 hours of training, 1440 hours will be devoted to classroom teaching and 960 hours will be devoted to Practical training. Out of 960 hours of practical training, 30% practical training, that is : 288 hours will be conducted with AMO (Aircraft Maintenance Organization) and 672 hours will be conducted in campus training.

AME + B.Sc Eligibility Criteria

To pursue B.Sc+AME course a candidate should fulfill the following eligibility criteria:-

  • Candidate appearing or passed 10+2 with PCM from a recognized board.
  • Candidate appearing or passed 3 Years engineering Diploma (Polytechnic) from a recognized board.
  • Candidate must be physically fit with a medical certificate of not having colour blindness.

  • Category B1.1:- B1.1 license holder certifies the release of maintenance of mechanical system aeroplanes with jet engines.

The applicant who desires to join the bachelor of science + aircraft maintenance engineering (B.Sc+AME) program has to fulfill the following eligibility criteria :-
