Born on April 14, 1891, as the 14th and last child of his parents, Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar faced the challenges of untouchability from his early years.
He pursued his education with determination, completing his early education in Bombay, where he experienced firsthand the harsh realities of being an untouchable in India.
Dr. Ambedkar received a scholarship from His Highness Sayajirao Gaikwad of Baroda, which enabled him to graduate from Elphinston College, Bombay, in 1912.
Following his graduation, he was obligated to join Baroda Sansthan but seized the opportunity to pursue higher studies in the USA after being selected as a scholar in 1913.
He obtained his M.A. and Ph.D. degrees from Columbia University in 1915 and 1916 respectively, marking a significant turning point in his educational journey.
Dr. Ambedkar furthered his studies in London, where he was admitted to Gray Inn for Law and also prepared for his D.Sc. at the London School of Economics and Political Science.
