Garg Aviations Limited (GAL) is a flight training academy established in the year 1995 at Civil Airport, Kanpur and engaged in conducting Director General of Civil Aviation, Govt. of India approved flying training courses. The academy has trained numerous students from all over India including candidates from Air force, Navy and Coast guard for obtaining their Private Pilot License/Commercial Pilot License/Airline Transport Pilot License/Instrument rating/ Multi engine rating/Instructor rating etc. The students trained by GAL include self sponsored candidates as well as students sponsored by the government.
Unlike other academies which are new, relatively inexperienced and can only give probability of completing training in a short duration of time, GAL has actually trained students in record durations of as less as 10 months while at the same time maintaining the highest possible standards of training and education. For the last 23 years the academy has given high emphasis on providing as much actual solo flying to students as possible so as to boost their confidence and enable them to evolve their skills and know their limitations.
The academy has one of the best infrastructure in the country for pilot training which includes LCD and OHP projector equipped classrooms, labs equipped with mock-ups and cut sections of aircraft piston engines, turbine engines, landing gear, controls systems, wirings, avionics equipment etc.
The academy uses a fleet of Cessna single and multi engine aircrafts for pilot training. They have Cessna 152- Single Engine Ab Initio/Advanced, Cessna 172- Single Engine Ab Initio/Advanced, Beechcraft Bonanza A-36- Single Advanced Complex Aircraft, Cessna 310- Multi Engine.
GAL is located at Civil Aerodrome, Kanpur which is actually within the city. GAL is located within the city and in fact just 2 kms away from the main city centre. Our airport has a 3500 feet long and 150 feet wide runway which means much greater safety margins for the students.
Commercial Pilot License (CPL) is a very popular course in the aviation sector. A CPL or Commercial Pilot License authorizes a pilot to fly aircraft and airplanes in the earth’s atmosphere. They are accepted to demand earnings for rendering their services. CPL is approved by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). To get the license students have to qualify for all the conditions that are specified by the DGCA. The specified conditions are in agreement with the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).
The duration of a commercial pilot license (CPL) is 9 months and it also depends upon the student’s capabilities. Students can finish earlier also. Commercial pilot license (CPL) is approved by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).

The academy offers well furnished accommodations to its students which is available for both full time ab-initio course students as well as students coming for short term courses like recency flying, multi engine flying etc. The academies hostel is run on a no profit no loss basis with minimal charges for lodging and fooding. Separate hostel facility for boy´s and girl´s is provided.
The academy also hosts regular sports matches like cricket, Volleyball etc. wherein our students play matches against the students of our AME college or the local residents. A volleyBall court is also maintained at the airport for the exclusive use of the students.
GAL also has approval from DGCA, Ministry of Civil Aviation, Govt. of India under CAR-M for carrying out maintenance on both Single and multi engine aircrafts up to the highest and most major schedules.

Our maintenance team offers an extensive amount of experience with manufacturer trained engineers on hand. This means that when you fly, you can concentrate on the tasks at hand knowing your aircraft is in fine form.
Upon completion of the course, the academy helps its students to find suitable placement in various airlines/charter companies/corporate flight departments etc. If necessary the academy also forwards the resume of the student along with its own recommendations on its letterhead so that the student has a good reference when going for an interview. The academy has a huge database of the various aviation companies in the country and abroad where the students can obtain placement and resumes of eligible students are sent to these companies. Rest assured almost all aviation companies do have pilots trained at our academy and hence our students will always get the preference when it comes to placement.
The training and placement cell (T&P cell) plays a very crucial role in the students career. They provide the best industries with a handsome salary package. The ratio of students placed through the campus interviews is continuously rising. On invitation, many reputed industries visit the institute to conduct interviews. All students are encouraged to attend the training programs for an enhanced performance in the campus interviews.
