Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (AME) is a job profile with high dignity and a great sense of responsibility. Owing to the strict standards of aviation safety and security, the Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), Govt. of India, regulates & approves the AME Institute in India for operating aircraft maintenance colleges. The students passing out from the aviation institute in India get the employment opportunity at the early stages after holding high competency in skill and knowledge levels. The wide scope of Aircraft Maintenance Engineering has led to increase in demand and the aspiring candidates can build their career in AME.
AME Course Duration
License A1:- This course comprises of 1 year academic programme at bharat institute and the other 1 year candidate has to undergo training in airlines, MRO etc. Gathering of practical knowledge can be made in a ground environment.
License B1.1:- This course comprises of 2 years academic programme at the campus and the remaining 2 years there will be training with airlines, MRO etc. Gathering of practical knowledge can be made in a ground environment.
License B2:- This course comprises of 2 years academic programme at the campus and the remaining 2 years there will be training with airlines, MRO etc. Gathering of practical knowledge can be made in a ground environment.
AME Eligibility Criteria
To pursue AME course a candidate should fulfill the following eligibility criteria:-
- Candidate appearing or passed 10+2 with PCM from a recognized board.
- Candidate must have minimum of 45% marks in 10+2 with PCM or equivalent.
- Candidate must not have colour blindness and any physical disabilities.

A1:- It involves training for minor checks and repairs during transit flight which are carried out by these licensed personnels
B1.1:- It involves major maintenance with adoption of troubleshooting and repair of aeroplane with jet engine procedures as per manuals provided by the aircraft manufacturers.
