Dholera International Airport is presently under construction and is classified as a greenfield airport. Its primary purpose is to cater to the Dholera Special Investment Region (DSIR) situated in Gujarat, India. This airport is strategically located near Navagam, within the Dholera taluka of the Ahmedabad district. The airport project occupies an expansive area spanning 1,426 hectares, situated approximately 80 kilometers (50 miles) away from Ahmedabad and about 20 kilometers (12 miles) from the Dholera Special Investment Region.

The primary objective of this airport is to fulfill the logistical requirements of the DSIR, which is envisioned as a significant industrial township within the larger framework of the Delhi–Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC) project. Additionally, it aims to alleviate the congestion experienced at the existing Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport, which currently serves the cities of Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar, the capital of Gujarat.

The completion and commissioning of Dholera International Airport are expected to take place by December 2025, making it an integral part of the region's infrastructure and contributing to its economic growth and development.
