India Aviation Sector Generating Thousands of New Job Opportunities for students who are planning to make their career in Aviation sector

Despite challenges during the peak of the pandemic, India's aviation industry is now bouncing back strongly. There are many new job opportunities for students, not just in airlines but also in regulatory bodies, air traffic control (ATC), and airports. The aviation sector is growing fast, and various stakeholders are preparing to build a skilled workforce.

Airlines have been hiring actively, even before Air India and indigo placed big orders for planes. Air India's privatization led to fleet and network changes, creating a need for new pilots and cabin crew to support the expanding operations. They are hiring around 600 cabin crew and pilots every month, and although finding experienced pilots for widebody planes is a challenge, they have temporarily hired pilots from other countries.

Air India Express, a low-cost airline, is also looking for qualified flying crew. They conducted a nationwide recruitment drive to meet their growing needs as they are expected to receive new boeing 737 MAX planes.

A new airline called Akasa Air is also excited to hire more people. They plan to employ nearly 1,000 staff members by March 2024, with a total of 3,000 employees in the future.

The demand for aviation professionals is so high that many pilots who lost their jobs when Go First grounded its flights found new positions in other airlines, including IndiGo.

Even The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), India's aviation regulator, needs more employees to keep up with the growing number of planes. They aim to hire 1,000 workers by the end of the decade.
