Aircraft Maintenance Engineering is the international aviation course regulated Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), Ministry of Civil Aviation, Govt. of India. AME is responsible for safety, security and maintenance of an aircraft. AME CET is a National level entrance test for admission in India’s topmost Government regulated Aircraft Maintenance Engineering institutions in India. By clearing this entrance exam, students will get admission though counselling in Government recognized AME institutions. AME is basically a 3 years trailing course in which the students are trained in the best way to keep the aircraft in a perfect flying condition. Once a student completes the training, He/she gets a license which is issued by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), Govt of India. After get this license an individual can do job in Govt and Private sector worldwide.
Eligibility for Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Course
- 10+2 in science stream with 50% marks in Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics.
- Or three-year diploma in any stream of Engineering.
- Any higher qualification in science with Physics and Mathematics.
- Age limit for this course is 23 years for science and engineering students.
AME Course Details
The duration of this course is 3 years in which student have to complete 6 semesters. In which 5 semester student has to complete his theoretical and practical training as per international standard and then 6th semester he/she has to go On Job Training (OJT) on working aircrafts. Between these 3 years student has to complete 16 modules. Once a student clears all the modules, he/she will get a certificate of basic AME. However, to get the full license, he/she should clear Paper 4 in a particular area of competence. There are to streams of AME

Scope of AME course
There is a wide scope of this course and the reason behind is the growing aviation sector. Every year new planes are bought by the airline companies to add new air paths to the sky. This course teaches the basics of automatic control guidance, propulsion, electronics, structural analysis, fluid dynamics, the theory of aerodynamics, material science. After finishing this course, candidates are entitled to get jobs in aircraft and airports maintenance and manufacturing firms where they can get attractive salary packages. The salary after getting the license can be 1 lakh to 1.5 lakh per month.
