AME Course
Approved by DGCA, Govt of India

We are approved by the Director General of Civil Aviation, Government of India for this course. Course is conducted as per syllabus and schedule provided by the DGCA. This course meets requirements of International Civil Aviation Organisation and European Aviation Safety Agency for working in foreign Airlines.

  • The Aircraft Maintenance Engineers are the backbone of the Aviation Industry. They draw attractive salaries and are respected for their professionalism, dedication and hard work.
  • They are highly trained to repair and certify modern sophisticated aircraft.
  • All technical work on the Aircraft is carried out under Authority of a DGCA licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer. AME is responsible to certify the Aircraft to be Airworthy before each flight.
AME Course Duration

License A1 & A4:- The duration of the course is a 1 year academic programme and other 1 year there will be training with airlines, MRO etc. At the time of training students will be provided with stipend.

License B1.1, B1.4 & B2:- The duration of the course is a 2 year academic programme and other 2 year there will be practical training with airlines, MRO etc. The stipend will be provided to the students.

AME Eligibility Criteria

To pursue AME course a candidate should fulfill the following eligibility criteria:-

  • Candidate appearing or passed 10+2 with PCM from a recognized board.
  • Candidate appearing or passed 3 Years engineering Diploma (Polytechnic) from a recognized board.
  • Candidate must be physically fit with a medical certificate of not having colour blindness.

A1:- - Category A1 licence holder to issue certificates for release to service after minor scheduled line maintenance and simple defect rectification within the limits of maintenance tasks for Large Aeroplane with Turbine engine. They are responsible for Transit checks and line maintenance.

A4:- Category A4 licence holder to issue certificates for release to service after minor scheduled line maintenance and simple defect rectification within the limits of maintenance tasks for Helicopter with piston engine. The student will be able to get Line Maintenance Engineer on helicopters & responsible for Transit checks and line maintenances.

B1.1:- Category B1.1 license holder to issue the certificate for the release to service of aeroplane with jet engine..

The Engineer can do maintenance work to be carried out on airplane body, Seats, wheels, brakes, Hydraulic, Vaccum, Water, Engines, Flight controls, etc

B1.4:- Category B1.4 license holder to issue the certificate for the release to service of helicopter with piston engine.

The Engineer can do maintenance work to be carried out on Helicopter body, Seats, skids, Hydraulic, Engines, helicopter controls, etc

B2:- Category B2 license holder to issue the certificate for the release to service the avionics and electrical system of aircrafts.

The Engineer can do maintenance work to be carried out all Avionic system including Electrical systems/ Instrument System/ Radio Navigation System & its components

  • Computer LabThe computer lab at the Indraprasth Institute of Aeronautics is out of the day. Computer Lab with more than 100 computer systems.
  • LibraryA well-stocked library is the soul of the institute. Library with more than 3000 books on different topics on AME.
  • Internet FacilityFull campus with free Wi-fi. Internet connection is provided to all departments, computer labs and the library in the University.
  • Audio Visual TrainingThe Institute has its own overhead and LCD projectors a lot of transparencies on various subjects have been made.


The Institute houses the students in well-furnished apartments with relevant modern facilities, separate for boys and girls. Students learn from each other and it also fosters teamwork. The learning that takes place in peer relationships often is significantly more than what takes place in a classroom. It is strongly recommended that the students stay in the hostel for the entire duration of the program.

  • Available on a first come first served basis, subject to availability of seats.
  • Separate hostel facility for boys and girls. Both hostels comprise spacious and well furnished rooms.
  • Regular and monitored study of the students, for which three hours are fixed as study hours.
  • One hour is fixed when students can get their academic problem solved under the guidance of an instructor.

Yes, we are having our own MRO named as Jet Serve Aviation where practical training is provided to the students. In our campus there is a lot more to learn.
The hostels are well furnished in our campus. There is a separate boys and girls hostel. The students can learn, enjoy and build new bonds during the hostel.
