The Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) plays a vital role in the field of Aviation, rather one can say that he/she is an important and inexpensive link between the flier and a flying machine. He is the one who assures the safety of the flier and his flying machine. The maintenance of modern sophisticated aircrafts calls for a high degree of technical knowledge, competence, proficiency & integrity on the part of the concerned personnel. Tremendous responsibility lies upon the Aircraft Maintenance Engineers who are certifying the aircrafts.
AME Course Duration
- The duration of the course is three years divided into six semesters each with a period of six months. All semesters are containing theory and practical classes in equal proportion. The Third & Fifth semester for both B2 category and B1.1 category is an exclusively practical oriented shall be completed in Approved Maintenance Organizations under the guidance of approved & experienced Aircraft Maintenance Engineers/Practical Training Assessor/Practical Instructor.
- Theoretical classes are followed by practical on Workshop Practices, Battery shop; Lab Procedures, Testing of Electrical systems, Instruments systems; Radio Systems. Also Jet Engine lab, Airframe lab and Composite Lab and NDT.
- The course contents for the respective streams (subject-wise), are as per the syllabus prescribed and approved by the Director General of Civil Aviation, Govt. of India are strictly followed to fulfil the regulation. Any changes pertaining to AME syllabus as directed by DGCA shall be mandatory and complied by the concerns.

- RADIO NAVIGATION SYSTEM
B2 is known as avionics in AME. B2 license is to certify airworthiness of the electronics and electrical system of an aircraft.

- AME Exam fees, Responsibility of individual candidate
- Transportation and Accommodation Facility during AMO Practical would be the responsibility of individual candidate but under the supervision of our approved instructor.
- The Fees for AME (CAR 147 B) MRO Practical Training are 1,60,000/- which is not included in the above fee structure. Whereas Transportation and Accommodation Facility during AMO Practical i.e., in 3rd & 5th Semester of both B1.1 & B2 category would be the responsibility of individual candidate but under the supervision of our approved Instructor.
AME + BSc
It is the combined course of AME and B Sc (Aviation). AME is approved by DGCA, Ministry of Civil Aviation, Govt. of India and BSc (Aviation) is approved by Savitribai Phule Pune University. Both the course runs in parallel and the syllabus also remains 80% the same. The students can apply for UPSC, MPSC, Airlines, MRO and other posts where AME can apply. The students can also pursue higher education like MSC Aviation ,PHD Aviation, or MBA Aviation.
AME + BSc (Aviation)
There will be a 3 years regular academic program for AME Certificate cum license and BSc Aviation degree. The students have to undergo 300 Hours training in flying environments such as Airlines, MRO etc. In the academic session students have to clear their modules conducted by DGCA.
After completion of modules, BSc Aviation semester exams and practical training students will get AME certificate of recognition by DGCA approved Institute and BSc Aviation degree by Savitribai Phule Pune University. On the basis of this students can do job as Aircraft Maintenance Engineer in government sector as well as private sector worldwide.

B.Sc in Aviation Course Duration
B.Sc. in Aviation course is a three-year undergraduate program with six semesters of six months each. During three years, the students will cover various subjects like aircraft building, aircraft maintenance, navigation, Aviation security, Flying aircraft, etc.
B.Sc Aviation Eligibility Criteria
- Candidates shall have passed minimum 10+2 class with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
- The candidates who have pursued a three-year Engineering Diploma course with Mathematics and Physics as their subjects are also eligible.
